If applicants are educated outside of Canada, applicants must meet 1) English Language Proficiency, 2) Program Entrance Requirements, and the following process will apply:
English Language Proficiency: All instruction within the College is in English; therefore, in order to be successful in a program, it is important for all students to have a level of English proficiency that will allow them to participate in all aspects of the program. For those students whose first language is not English or education is from out of country where English is not the primary language used in the home, school, and business, you will need to provide evidence of having sufficient English language skills in speaking, listening, reading, and writing. The application process will not start until evidence of English Language Proficiency has been provided.
Applicants from countries where English is their first language may be exempt from testing for English Language Proficiency. Education documents will be required.
Students that have met the required score for English Language Proficiency will also have met the program entrance requirements for English.

Program Entrance Requirements:Program specific English, Math and/or Science entrance requirements may be met by submitting evidence (i.e., official transcripts) of having successfully completed post-high school courses in the country of origin. The official transcripts and other supporting documentation must be in English or have certified English translation attached. Students that have met the English Language Proficiency test score will have met the program entrance requirements for English.
The following process will apply:
Provide evidence of meeting English Language Proficiency.
Proceed to STEP 2.
If program entrance requirements have not been met, write the Canadian Adult Achievement Test (Skills Assessment), see Category 2, #1. For more information on the Skills Assessment test and how to register, click here.Note: International students are only eligible to write the Math portion of the Skills Assessment, unless their first language is English and on the Country Exemption List.
STEP 2:
Complete a WTC Application (International Application)
Submit a $55.00 (Canadian) non-refundable administration fee per program (non-tax deductible).
Submit an original transcript of marks summarizing the educational credits earned.

RECOGNITION OF PRIOR LEARNING
Winnipeg Technical College believes that significant learning takes place outside our institution and that this learning can and should be assessed and recognized. Recognizing previously acquired knowledge and skills increases learner confidence and educational efficiency and is consistent with good adult education practice.
